I decided to start a section to showcase artists. There's a lot of artists out there that are really great and are not just from the comic book realm. These will be my favorite of favorites...of course Mad! is number 1 on that list, but I love a lot of artists. These are in random order of who I like. So here we go, first up is... Ryan ChurchWebsite link: www.ryanchurch.com/Ryan Church is just amazing with color and basicly everything, he's also super fast...if you have his gnomon dvds you know that's true. If you haven't picked up his dvds I would recommened doing so, they're really helpful and insightful to doing concept art. Also I would suggest getting the Star Wars artbooks Episodes 2 and 3(get ep. 1 artbook too.. there all good!) to see a lot of his art. Well check out his stuff and look forward to more artists to come.

That's some great looking stuff. Some of my favorite artists are Geof Darrow, who did most of the conceptual work in the Matrix. He designed almost all the mechanical stuff there and is the artist of books like Hard Boiled, Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot, and the very excellent Shaolin Cowboy Here is some of his work Obviously, he is known for what could be called insane details. Another favorite artist of mine is Steve Skroce who also worked on the Matrix movies. He storyboarded most of the trilogy and did a very cool Wolverine story collected in the tpb "Wolverine:Blood Debt" and is currently working on Doc Frankenstein, written by the Wachowski bros. Here is some of his storyboard work And a few others like Frank Quitely, Ladronn, Art Adams, Katsuhiro Otomo, and way too many more to list. ~Dave

Dave and Jettison nice picks, Dave I got the Art of the Matrix book it's got some of his stuff in there. Bryne have you picked up the Star Wars artbooks? Episode 2 and Episode 3 ones have tons of Ryan Church in them, Episode 1 artbook is excellent too. Okay for my next pick I'm gonna pick someone that I don't think people would know a lot. I saw this guys stuff awhile back and each time I see his work I'm liking it more and more. This guy is young too only 23!..a year younger than me ahhh that's scary. Jason ChanThis is the first image that got me interested in his work..there's a bigger version on his site This last image I just love it, I have this as my desktop right now. If you like his stuff you should check out this magazine called ImagineFX and this month's issue he's on the cover(which has the last image on the front) and he has a tutorial and his techniques in it. Even if you don't like his stuff you should still pick up ImagineFX. It's got tons of great artists and all kinds of cool stuff..like free PS and Painter brushes and tons of tutorials. The magazine is kinda exspensive though..15$ If you want to check more of his stuff there's tons more and plus better quailty images too on his web site: Jason ChanAlso he posts on conceptart.org and there's some more recent images there..he posts under the name JasonChan written just like that with no space between the name.

I just noticed something about your post Madman! The girl that Jason Chan drew. The one at the top with the gray outfit on. Joe Mad did a drawing of the some character in 2005. is she a comic character or something?

Yeah she's a character from a video game called Starcraft Ghost..here's some info on it IGN. Seems like Blizzard is putting the game on hold again..sucks I didn't realize that, I was really looking forward to the game too.. ..and before somebody comes in here with a wise ass comment..no the game wasn't canceled because of Mad!, he only did one picture for it.

Way to go with the preemptive strike there Madman! And thank you for the info. I’m going to check it out and then I will write my congressmen about getting the game put back on the track of production.

I went through and looked at all the art work by Anry I could find using your link and I have to say that I was impressed. There is some really excellent character work there. I loved the “Old Pirate” image the most. Well, there are a few that I really liked but the thing I like the most about all the work is the coloring. It has a real fantasy feel to it. thanks for the link.

I'm Not gonna say Joe cause this is his Fan Forum and that would be silly. But I am gonna name this guy. Yves "Balak" Bigerel balak01.deviantart.com/His work is a little provacative But thats Not why I like him. Im going to school to be an animator, and thats what this guy does, and I love his works in animation. He recently graduated an animation school and this was his final Project along with 4 of his other classmates. www.pyrats.net/movie.htmlHe has other little animations on his DA page. This guy is some one for me to look up to.
