I simply cannot express the anticipation for a YEARS worth of artwork from Mad!. This is seriously unimaginable because i really didnt think Joe would be back so soon lol. I SERIOUSLY hope he gives Captain America his Ultimates ver. Helmet. I swear that helmet is so cool to me but i remember Wizard saying that Joe will go back to Cap's Marvel U. counterparts' costume when working on Ultimates 3. Either way and ultimately, the fact that Joe Madureira will be working on a yearly series is something truly amazing and unbelievably awesome! Can you all IMAGINE what its going to be like to have a TPB of Ultimates Vol.3?  ?, i mean my brother just bought Vol.1 and its thick and huge lol, but this time it will be ALL Joe Mad!, omg..............someone help me lol!!! |

I hope they do a Raw edition for each issue with just the artwork, and the writer's and artist's thought process for each page. Udon is doing it with their streetfighter II issues, and im loving it.

I moved this thread not because it needed to be moved for any reason, but because I'm just reordering the boards around a bit.
*edit* Also have you guys picked up Ultimates vol 2? If you did what's the paper like in the books? I was thinking about this earlier today and wanted to know. I never read Ultimates 2 and Marvel always seems to print on crappy paper(at least the books I seem to get), is it like that glossy paper?

It's on glossy paper with a thick cover stock.
You really should read Ultimates and Ultimates 2. They're great reads. Or you should read the Ultimate Galactus trilogy (Ultimate Nightmare, Ultimate Secret, and the currently being published Ultimate Extinction) great stuff involving the Ultimates and the Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four as Galactus or in the Ultimate universe, "Gah-Lak-Tus" makes his (more like its' as it is not a giant man with a big helmet, but hundreds of thousands of mechanical creatures) towards earth.
Or another good one is Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk, written by the writer of the show "Lost" where Nick Fury of the Ultimates hires Wolverine to track down and kill the Hulk. Great stuff and has one of the most memorable opening scenes of the Hulk literally ripping Wolverine in half.

I think the earliest you'll probably start seeing actual images from U3 is on the weekend of June 2-4, which is one of the Wizardworld conventions. If not that weekend, it'll definitely be on the first weekend of August with Wizardworld Chicago. Marvel usually waits for the Wizard cons to unveil stuff like that (with it appearing in Wizard a week or 2 later). So keep an eye on places like Newsarama then.
But those would be the most likely times. Because after that, the next Wizard con is Dallas in November, but by then U3 could be out by then or at the very least have the solicitations our already.

When I heard Joe Madureira was coming back, my jaw dropped. I haven't been keeping up with comics. Then one day I went to my local comic store and there was a poster of Captain America drawn by the one and only. I asked the comic shop owner where he got it. He said it came in a magazine with posters by Wizard. The coolest part though was that he gave me the poster because I liked Joe's work so much. He gave me the run down about Joe drawing the Ultimates. I've been so excited ever since. Let me just tell you, I came out of the store as if I just arrived to Disneyland.
Also, I saw the prelim design to Iron Man. I hope he sticks to a design similar to this one. It's really awesome and really unique for an American Icon. All i got to say is Eye Candy.. Pure Eye Candy!

Have you seen some of the other pictures? There are sketchess of Wasp, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, a different Captain America one, Scarlet Witch.
I probably should move all the pics into their own section..yeah I'll do that.
*edit* I went ahead and made a ultimates section in the images gallery.
