It's a total shock I can't believe he's gone. He's one of the artists I would want to meet if I went to a con and that sucks I won't get the chance now. The last I read in Wizard was that he was going to totally beat it and looked like the kinda guy that would...really sad to hear.

This broke my heart. Mike was one of my very favorite people in comics. I am completely and utterly positive that there will be a tribute book for Mike in the near future with some great talent behind it. I for one am *there*.

Michael Turner drew the finest women with perfect lips.... He's probably the only reason i picked up Witchblade for a little bit...

Cancer... when will we find the cure? There are so many that get it, something like 1 in every 3 people will have it in their life time. That's ridiculous and truly frightening. It steals beautiful life from the most amazing people. I've lost both of my Grandparents to cancer, two aunts are continually fighting theirs, and my ex girlfriend from High School passed away at the young age of 21. I hope that Michael Turner and everyone else that was taken from this life wayyyyy to early are truly in a better place.

From CBR's coverage of the Aspen panel ( www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=17536), it looks like the tribute book is coming out in November, with most of the comic book industry contributing. I was heartbroken after hearing about Michael Turner, since it seemed like he was definitely gonna beat the cancer. A year ago at SDCC, he was feeling healthy and talking about all the plans he had lined up for the next few years. One year later, he's gone. And it was all the more morbid since Mike Wieringo passed away last summer too. Two great artists (coincidentally named Mike) who were taken away far too soon... For those who went to SDCC, I hope you were able to make it to the tribute panel on Sunday. As someone who never got to meet Mike, it was good to hear stories about the kind of guy he was (which only made me regret never getting to talk to him in person).
