It has been exactly one year since Joe Mad last posted (August 2, 2008). I know he's busy with Darksiders, but do you think he'll post again??

He probably will just give him time. When the game gets released I'm sure he'll come back.

no offence but its sad your counting! I wasn't counting. When I logged in yesterday and saw that it was August 2, I remembered seeing on Joe Mad's profile that that was the last time he posted.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hi all how are you all doing?
I'm sure Mad hasn't forgotten about us loyal fans. He could just be going through some difficulties or trials, but we should pray that he will overcome them with ease. Personally, I think Joe will win through because he has good character and great skills. But let us enjoy the work that Joe has done so far, maybe this is a good opportunity to look back at his work and read em again.
I need to rebuild my collection of Mad! work but I still remember heaps. Particularly, I remember how Garrison, after nearly self-destructing, leaps back into action to defeat his old foe Brass Demur. That story motivates me to confront the challenges in my life and strive to overcome them. Garrison is the type of character that you want to BE!
Garrison is confident in his skills and techniques. He has displayed courage, valour, bravery and fortification. There is no danger or enemy that he will not confront, for the greater good showing that he his the greatest swordsman that ever lived. Notice that when Brass nearly breaks his arm, he gets even more detemined to win, you can see it in the expression on his face. He's not one to mince words or talk vanities. He is straight to the point.
I particularly like Garrison's investigative skills. How he looks for clues and pieces together the mystery of what happened at our beloved Aramus's house. Then he is willing to take on 'Bretto and Knolan to save Gully! Now that is courage. But notice that he didn't go into that rescue to cause destruction or kill. He went in with a clear head and calmness prevailed. This is evident when Garrison lowers his guard and has dialogue with them. Notice also that Garrison used gas bombs rather than explosive bombs, this shows that he wasn't out to kill. Evidently, he wasn't a match for the loving Wargolem and the noble Knolan but there shouldn't be such a question as between good people since they are on the same side.
You can tell that Garrison has a very kind heart. We see this in his dialogue with Gully where she leaves him speechless. Once he affirms that she is safe, he goes on his way.
There is great personality in Mads work. He really brings the characters to life, mashallah. You can see that in ALL his works.
Onslaught, I'm sure he will post again but we don't know when. But it wouldnt be consistent with Joes character to leave his fans inshallah.
Biroons, I hope so too.
Let's give him more time as Nathan and artxtra suggested.
Kable, let's all be patient, as they say, "Patience is a virtue."
Let's pray that Joe is ok and that he will return soon. Amen.

Well, from everything I've seen/read about Joe I don't think he wants this 'celebrity' status or fan pages. He seems to just want to do his job quietly without too much grief about when his next project is coming out etc etc. That's not to say that there's shouldn't be a web page like this with gallery pages. Most popular artists have one but I just don't think we should expect Joe to post. It'd be great if he did but it's not part of his job. As for Battlechasers or any other comic, I think that if Darksiders is the success it will be then Joe will be lost to the gaming industry for good. I wouldn't blame him though, it's more varied work, less back breaking and the final product reaches a bigger audience. I expect he'll do some Darksiders comic pages here and there but I don't think he'll commit to something like Ultimates again. It's sad for us comic fans but having said that, I enjoy every piece of concept art I see from him, he's really pushing boundaries in that area. Now where's that Battlechasers game already!

i think joe takes longer than most artists to produce a page of comic art and thats beacuse of the imense detail he includes - the art of ultimate volume 3 speaks volumes - just see the black and white edition of ultimates as an example (which im sure most of you own). This said, it is a fact that a great deal of books joe produced in the past have taken a while to hit the shelves, agian this proves my humble assumpution he takes longer with his work, hence carrying the odd negative remark regards deadlines. So what im trying to say is I totally aggree with mikebowden the games industry is a better option for him. However his style of art is second to none in my book!

The game cover sketch has been on my site for a long time now even on the front page. The bottom picture isn't even done by Mad!...it's probably done by www.autodestruct.com/ Paul Richards.
