Charest is amazing. I hope we see his secret Marvel project get a proper announcement soon.
The new colored pages from Joe's Spidey look great! I am really excited for this, looks like a fun, action packed book which is perfect for Joe's style. Have to say though, I really think inks would bring these pages to an even higher superstar level. Can't wait to have this in hand!

I hope this is not the final look of the colouring on that book, the colours look awful, I know some might argue with me but trust me on this- this colours ain't doing justice to the art- doesn't give proper atmosphere and it looks the same in every panel, if the colours stay like that I'll probably gonna wait for the pencils only version if there is such a version

ok here is a example on how poor the colouring on the spiderman pages is: Firstly the depth is gone there is no clear readability and it is hard to say what is the distance between the characters and the monster , as a whole the image looks flat Secondly the atmosphere is uninteresting the colours chosen are dull and doesn't suggest that there's something happening the whole "editing" I did took like 30 minutes and by my account shows what I am talking about- I am not saying it is greater or something I'm just saying it's easier to read I'm really pissed when nice art is being given a poor quality of colouring

Hey drazen.....
I understand your point about the colors....its contrasts are quite high and overall are not vibrant to show depth.yet in my own opinion, I believe Aron Lusen colors are unique and somehow complement not just Mad!'s pencils but the feel of the story. Did you notice Chris Litchner wasn't picked for the project....? The editors of this book obviously wanted a stylised feel for the book as compared to Ultimates which has a moody/darker theme. In my opinion I think the colors are quite right and as a matter of fact it kinda reminds me of the Battle Chaser days.....(...fun days)
Anyways your edited version of the colors works too....nice work.

Speaking of Avenging Spider-Man and artists named Joe, here's Joe Quesada's cover for Avenging Spider-Man #1 On his twitter page twitter.com/#!/JoeQuesada He goes step by step in creating the cover.

Gotta say the Daily Bugle preview was underwhelming. Mostly the colours didn't really impress me that much. I dunno why Joe doesn't want to use inkers, but that colouring style needs an inker for it.
I have the preview on my computer. Was thinking of adding it to the gallery since Nathan isn't around at the moment.

Hey guys, I have a kind of weird question. When Ultimates 3 was serialized, I had a direct subscription through Marvel, where they shipped directly to my house as the issues came out. I'd never had a serial comic subscription before. I'm wanting to do this for Avenging Spider-Man, but I can't find the option on the Marvel site.
Does anyone know how to do this? I live in Canada if that makes a difference. Please and thaaanks!

So, if that is accurate, chantienyee, Joe's run would be 5 issues long (just like Ultimates 3). I doubt Joe will be on Spidey for more than that since Darksiders 2 is in production but that is just my guess.
On the subscription question, your best bet is to Google it or try the Marvel website if you haven't yet. I'm sure they have a place where you can submit a question.

Then again, Joe kind of hinted at doing more than one arc to this book, over on his Facebook fan page.

So I just got the "daily bugle" avenging spider-man that spots some of the new art from the up comming run. I have to say It is so great to see joe's comic art again. It always makes me feel like i did so many years ago when i first picked up a copy of Battle Chasers. Great fun.
