I was in the comic book store the other day and saw a nice (though short) Danger Girl sketchbook. I think it would be cool if Joe Madureira released a sketchbook spanning his career, like maybe some Deadpool drawings, X-Men drawings, Battle Chasers, video game concept art, etc and some new drawings just for the sketchbook. In the video where Joe mad does a sketch (http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=1076626058&fr=yfp-t-501) he said there was talks about it, but I dont know what year that video is from. I'd be willing to pay alot for one!

haha that video is mine and the sketch is mine..I'm nathen. I had it uploaded here but so many people downloaded it and it caused the site to go down within the first few days every month. It's a couple years old, so if there was a sketchbook it's been scrapped..I'm guessing he meant it more as a hopefully one day kinda thing. Maybe once Ultimates shoots to #1 they will make some stuff like that..let's hope.
If I can find the sketch I'll upload it again though like the video I kinda wanted it left off the site cause it's my peronal sketch..but oh well looks like the video has been saved everywhere now.

Hell, I'd kill for a B&W edition of Ultimates 3 #1, like they did with Ultimates 2 #1, where it's essentially the whole book just in pencils.
Jeph Loeb's recent Wolverine arc had something like that as well.

I know UDON is doing some Street Fighter issues where it is just the lineart not colored or inked, I'd love to see a comic that Madureira worked on do that! His stuff looks so amazing that I wish I could see how the pencils for the pages look.

I understand what you mean about it being personal. I guess I found the video because on youtube I was seeing videos of Jim Lee and Adam Hughes and Leinil Yu doing sketches so I wondered if there was one of Joe Mad, but there wasn't. I tried a yahoo video search and this video was the only one!

Madman
Who was the fella asking on behalf ofyourself for the sketch? I've gotta say for 5 minutes of work he produced a pretty decent sketch I envy you!
I wonder if Mads ever thought about offering his services to commisioned work via the net ala - the silvestri site...

I do remember Joe saying a long time ago that he'd love to do an "art of.." artbook, but would have to find the time needed to produce one lol. I honestly wouldn't know what to do should that happen.

If Joe decide to ever do that, mark my words it will be the highest selling sketchbook of all time.

Thats the first time I have ever seen this video, pretty cool. He draws a lot more controlled than I imagined he would.

In the video when the guy asks how long it took to draw a particular scene and Mad says 25 hours, which scene are they referring to?

I bet its the SAME page i asked him about on his old site boards, BC#7, pg.19 lol. I believe he responded and said it took him about 2 days to complete it. Also, no sign of him at wizardworld chicago....sigh lol.

After looking at J. Scott Campbell's Danger Girl sketchbook, I now definitely think Joe Mad should make a sketchbook!! Even though it was only like 40 or 50 pages, it still provided alot of insight plus it's intriguing to see Campbell's figure sketches (since I'm doing alot of figure drawing now). If Joe Mad makes one, I wish it is like 100 pages with alot of his Battle Chasers art, alot of his concept sketches, and many brand new works just for the book! I'd pay anything for that, even like $400...
