Did you get both covers? I have to get them and scan them on Friday when I see my brother he lives close to the comic shop. I also got the SDCC jam version too. Did you see that Jason Rubin posted in the comments section on the front page..how cool is that!

No, I only got the Francis Manipul cover. They only had like two copies left and I got one of them. Must be selling a lot of copies. The artwork is amazing. If there is one person who can get close to Mad!'s style, its Manipul.
***Those of you who got it, did anyone notice that when a certain appendage gets blown off, the artist drew two left hands. It kept bugging me till I realized it. Go back and look at it closely. Ah well.

I thought the first Iron and the Maiden issue was pretty strong, and my favorite of the covers I got was the SDCC one. Of the recent and upcoming coverwork I've seen, I like the Manipaul covers (as well as the Mad!/Matsuda cover and Bachalo cover) over the Michael Turner variant ones, which says a lot about the high quality of art in this book.

And Manapul's style is diff from previous suff I've seen. I guess Joe influenced his style somewhat. The book looks awesome. But Manapul he told me at the con there's gonna be only a few issues so I wonder what's gonna happen after that.

ive gotta wait another month for the release, however im loking forward to the comic.
with regards to the limted number of issue being released - maybe there testing the water like they did with the gen13 series yonks ago. I think Manapul has a very nice style and will become a bigger name in the future. just like campbel, mad, turner ect..

Yeah I heard about Manapul doing Legion at DC; I wonder if there are plans down the road to hand the reigns to Iron and the Maiden to Matsuda or Mad! after Manapul.

Yeah right...like that's gonna happent.
To be honest, i think Mad's not into comics anymore
I mean, get real. His return includes only five comics.
Image that. Just five.
He's always busy with his Gaming company so i think its time to suck it up and accept the fact that he's not into it, anymore.
We can always enjoy Ultimates tho...
But please. Get real.
Check the wizard interview. You can easily read some points of that fact in there.

Yeah, I get that feeling too sometimes but as much as I read that article at Wizard, Joe also contradicted that in a way by saying that he loved doing comics again and loves how you can get a fast turnaround. There's more as well. It's in the recent Game Informer. They interviewed him about Darksiders and talked very briefly about his return to comics. Check it out if you can. So, I don't know.

He could also just be testing the water. If he comes back and the book doesn't sell well and most of the fans still have so much hatered for him and he's signed on for like 12 issues that would be a big commitment.

Yeah, but he's been gone from the comic scene for years now and people still talk about him like he's some god. I don't think his fans have hatred for him. They still goble up everything he does. There is nobody else like him. But...with that being said, Joe was in the comic scene for ten years minimum and he's always wanted to do video games. Now, he's at a place where he can do that. This is my opinion, but, comics are always gonna be his start. They'll always be special to him. But, they are very demanding with deadlines and artwork, maybe more so than video games. Not sure on that, though. I just look at it this way when I start to whine and then I understand...
-Joe just had another kid, thus having a total of two children AND a wife.
-Joe owns a video game company that is working on what looks like a huge hit for next year along with the Warhammer series.
-He created the concepts for Iron and the Maiden.
-He's doing the follow-up to The Ultimates, which will most likely be on time. 5 issues total with it being a total of 120 pages of new artwork minimum (my estimated guess).
Thats a lot for somebody to have on their slate. A lot more than I have ever done or tried to do, so I definitely take my hat off to the guy. And though, I LOVE his comic book work, I look forward to anything he does, be it comics, video games, or even cereal boxes.
On an Iron and the Maiden note, what if they make a video game of it? Naughty Dog (Jason Rubin's company) could team with Joe Mad's Vigil. Who knows? I wonder if they ever talked about it? Hmmmmm.
