Hey everyone, I just got back from my local comic shop, Grasshoppers Comics here on Long Island, great shop. Anyway, I had a brief discussion with the manager concerning Ultimates 3, we talked a moment about Joe and he mentioned that Joe used to frequent the shop and speak to the owner, John, about getting into comics. Not sure how much was true, can you confirm any of this, Joe?
Anyway, as a fan it was cool to hear that Joe once lived nearby and shopped where I shop. I'd love to know more, have to talk to the owner directly one day on the subject.

Joe did indeed used to live in Long Island or is from there actually so i definitely wouldn't doubt his claims.

I use to work for the owner of Grasshoppers comics back in the early 90's. John and his wife were really good to me. Joe stopped by the shop when he had a chance. Real nice guy. Joe had signed a few books for me and was really personable. I think he enjoyed my company. Just glad that I met him. Hope he's doing well.

It's true. I used to play Mortal Kombat there all the time too LOL. Please say hello to John, and his wife for me ( I think her name was Elaine if I remember correctly, but man it has been like 10 years at least... ). Thanks! -Joe

I will give John a call! I am actually living in Myrtle Beach now working in a hospital, I will be flying to New York tonight for a wedding this weekend then on Sunday I will be in the Keys (Marathon) for a week. If you're ever in South Carolina, give me a call!
