Well it's hard to give a crit cause on the 3rd image you drew it from a Mad! drawing and didn't say mention that, so I have no idea if the other two you made up with your own mind or if they're someone elses drawings.
I know people are going to disagree but if you want to get real good don't draw from other people's drawings. Take a figure drawing class and really study anatomy books and then you can put a character in any pose you want. Drawing from other people's drawings will get you somewhat good but when you go to draw something in the future you'll only have the memory of that one drawing. Everything will be pretty similar to whose ever work you decide to draw from. If you study anatomy and take figure drawing you know the muscles and stuff and again can do any kinda pose and style or other things from life like trees,etc.
Hey don't get me wrong I know this is the Mad! message boards and I used to draw from Mad! art all the time and that's my probably drawing now. It looks like maybe you're having that problem too. Again I don't know if the first two drawings are stright from you head and if they're then they still have a lot of Mad! running through them pants,shoes,armor they all look like they came from a Mad! drawing. Which if you're doing that for fun that's fine but it's really hard to crit you on what you need to work on.

yes the first two were originals. i'm a big fan of Mad! as we all are. i know male anatomy, i guess. but female ones... kinda hard to reallllllyyy do it right. that pose of the 3rd drawing, i got it from joemadfan.com, where i got this site.  i got so pumped with that drawing i made a similar pose and took some of the armors too, just modified a few things. by the way, the 1st two aren't finished yet... i'll be inking it more and shade it. oh by the way, they're ragnarok online characters but Battlechaserz version. hehehe. man, that BC comics really is into me. like i wanna draw always like BC. even romantic scene, look like BC.. awwww also, i'm just having fun, like ehat you have said. just wanted to see what would turn out at the finished art nways, thanks for the comment. it will help me a LOT. ty again |

Hey that's cool I'm glad you found the site and got inspiration to draw from it, that's kinda why I made it. I just wasn't sure if you were passing it off as your own, since you did it for fun that's cool it's still hard to crit it since someone else already did it.
Since the other two are their own poses that's cool. I mean I would still kinda stay away from doing stuff that looks just like mad's style, but hey a lot of artists do it and I'm cool with similar styles. I just don't like it when it's ripped off pose and they claim it as there own. Since your doing it for fun then keep doing it though for me I like the originals better. Post some more up I always like looking at art.

hey thanks.. getting away from mad! style drawing would be really hard if not impossible. heck, i started to draw coz i saw his works on X-Men. and when i draw, his styles has a way of getting into it. and i like what comes up. as of now. maybe in the next few years, hopefully, i get to develop my own. like joe did. and be good at it. right now, i only draw for fun. and pleasure. hehehe. also, your clip, with mad sketching?! omg! that's very invaluable. i kept on watching it like 20+ times. now i got an idea how he draws. (grins) and how he sketches. may i know what pen he used? please? also, i'm planning to post some more stuff. thanks for the site. most of the other sites are DDOOWwwnnn. hope you keep it up. but what really bugs me, specially here in phil. they hardly know Mad!. oh well... PS. cool collections.  |

yes the lat one is a modified Mad! pic as well all know but I think the rest are pretty good overall

Actually, the first 3 posted sketches here? I think the first two look better than the one you basically took from Madureira. Just my opinion. And good luck branching out into your own unique style in the future.

i think so too.
coz drawing the first two were easier coz i drew them my self and i feel free to adjust while drawing it.. unlike the third one, i'm basing it on mr.mad's work... it made my fingers stiff and my wrist so comfortably moving. hehehe... i was shaking while making it. (hey, it's my idol's drawing you know)

It's a free boards there isn't attachments and most other boards don't allow attachments, it depends on the boards..but since this is a free one it doesn't have it. If you want to still post an image then there is like tons of free image hosting places and then just use the  button when you post and stick the link in the middle of the tag. |
