I wouldn't ask him a cotton-pickin' thing. He really doesn't like all of the fan attention, so I wouldn't bother him with a phone call. I would quite possibly tell him how his art alone got me to read a comic book in the first place. Before that issue, I had never picked up a comic book. Some kid brought in Uncanny X-Men 320 back in 1994, and I was hooked by his art, even back then. Other than that, I wouldn't take up too much of his time. I would ask him if i could purchase some of his work, so that way you aren't being a pest by asking for it for free or whatever.
