Madman!, I was just thinking ( I know, very dangerous), about how many people are members but only a handful of people are active. I know that this could be due to the fact that Mad! hasn't really released anything for quite awhile and when he does, it might pick back up some. But, I think to myself, how many are still actually online? Is there a way to filter out the ones who are no longer even active? You could possibly make an annoucement to renew your account or something that way you could get rid of the dead weight. Thats an idea. You don't really need to. Plus, you probably are busy. But, when I'm on my MySpace page, I wonder how many people are actually my friends and how many of them are just numbers, y'know? Just an idea.

There probably is if I pay like big bucks to take away the ads and everything, but on this free one I can't. I have boards that come with my site, but if I install them I think it uses the bandwidth from the site, which would shut the site down on like the first day of the month..don't want that. Unless someones knows if it does or doesn't use the bandwidth from the site..Steven? I'll have to ask him and if it didn't we would all have to sign up again I have myspace too and I wonder too sometimes if people are reallly wanting to be friends. I have a lot of girls ask to friends, but I don't know if they want to friends or not...they're usually from Seattle...so maybe

Well Madman!, I know that you can delete user accounts on proboard forums if you’re the admin like your self. If you really wanted to you could go through all the users looking for people that no longer log in and remove there account from the forum. It would take some time but its possible.

I think this forum is impressive. It is not by any means the largest forum, nor the most populated or the most active but we do have something. In my view we have some of the nicest, most thoughtful members that I have yet seen on the net. I feel it is uncommon to find a forum where the members are willing to truly help one another by offering advice and encouragement like we do here. This brings up a concern of mine.
I am a busy individual. I work full time, I go to school fulltime, I have a wife and children, and I am active in my community and my church. I spend much of my time with my family and friends participating in sports and other outdoor activates. I spend a very small fraction of my time posting to this forum but I try to show my support by attending as often as I can. From time to time I post an image for the rest of the members to see and comment on. I try to comment on every members work in return. I have had many of you send me person requests to give my opinion on your work and I thank you for your confidence in my judgment.
To Quote Madman! “I want these boards to grow into a community where we can become friends.” I agree with this statement. I love Artwork. I have dedicated a significant amount of my life to improving my skills and abilities. I feel that I have found a great place to share what I am doing with my art and that’s here. The Mad Boards work perfectly for me. I like Mad! art and I like the forum that Madman! Has set up in his behalf. I have come to know many of you and look forward to hearing what you have to say about all the work I post.
Having said all this, I want to see more of this forums members posting instead of lurking. I feel this way for an entirely selfish cause. I feel that by having more members posting I will get more comments on my artwork. This helps me gain valuable insight from others. I often tell people that are seeking a way to improve on there art to ask people that they are not well acquainted with what they like least about there work. With the proper evaluation of the responses given, an artiest can identify what area of there skill needs the most improvement. Currently I find it difficult to get the number of responses that I would like to get for this process from this forum. If every member of this forum posted regularly I would not have this trouble.
So please if you have not posted in some time or you only post once or twice a year, see if you can improve your attendance record here. I need the help and I think the other active members would appreciate your help as well.
Perhaps we can improve the attendance of the forum by implementing a “us it or loss it” policy towards the accounts that are active but not actively being used for posting. If your signed up but haven’t logged in or posted in the last six months or so your account should be deleted. In this way the members that really want to keep there accounts would be more apt to post. If you’re a member and you’re not posting then you’re not helping the forum. I get the feeling that perhaps some of this forums lurkers are just hoping to see Joe Mad! Show up and as soon as he dose (if he dose) they will be the first start posting with professions of longest and biggest fan because they have been signed up for the longest time. Never mind the fact they have never posted or contributed in any way to the forums community.
It’s your forum Madman! and you are right in doing what you feel is best but I would offer you any help I can in establish a policy on this mater.
I feel this is very impotent.

I hate to bring up old issues but sometimes they are in need of bringing up. We now have more then 1000 members and only about 29 have ever made it past the rank of new member! (50 posts) and of those that have, only about 24 have posted anything in the last year the rest haven’t posted in about a year and a half.
So where are the rest of the members? Ether they are lurking around or (more likely) they registered and never came back. Come on people try and post from time to time.
I know that there are times when I don’t post but I try to post at least once a month. I know we can do better then that. And I say if you’re not using your account then you should lose it. I know I want to see more people use there accounts, how about you?

Hey. to comment on Byrnes last post here....the reason i've been so distant is because i felt that some people here just dont bother anymore. i mean i try to look at peoples work and comment but when i post i hardly get any views. its discouraging. so i took a long leave of absence. but i'm back. with new stuff. which i've posted and surprise surprise..... no feed back.
