Good news on Ultimates 3

Over on Rob Liefeld's messageboard, Rob said that he's seen the first issue of Joe Mad's Ultimates. The thread was about the lack of exciting art in comics. But here is the quote Rob said;

" I've seen Joe Mad's first issue of Ultimates----it's unbelievable, it jumps off the page at you, it's an even more dramatic shift then Hush was. It will make the world safe for all manner of exciting page layouts, exaggeration and exciting designs. Things are only getting better.

Artists who were working in the realistic style will attempt to blend more exaggeration into their work. "

Rob mentions Hush mainly because in the post, he mentioned Hush being the starting point of people starting to move away from the photorealistic movement of comics in recent years.

So we at know that at least the first issue is done.

That's great to hear that Rob Liefield says it's good(though I can already start to hear some people's comments about that) and that issue one is in the can..though I'm guessing but I think he is probably close to having a couple issues done.

It's good to hear though...eventhough I already knew the book was gonna be unbelievable.

Same here. I can't wait for the coming months when the actual previews start hitting the magazines and internet.

I dont know what to think anymore....Joe Mad is simply priceless as an artists personally lol!, i mean did you all see the designs on the main page???, i truly, TRULY do not think i can handle a whole COMIC drawn by Joe, ESPECIALLY an Ultimates one at that! This gets better by the day lol!

yeah, ultimates 3 is going to kick ass. I can't wait to see the fight scenes. Does anyone know if it's monthly or bi-monthly?

Don't know yet. Joe Quesada mentioned at the NYC con this weekend that more details and artwork from Ultimates 3 will be unveiled during the upcoming cons, particularly the summer cons.

He must be keeping busy on it cause he hasn't written me back since the last two letters and usually when I write he sends a reply within 2 days.

I can't wait for summer too it's going to be awesome when stuff starts coming out...there will probably be Wizard covers, Posters, etc...faints.

For the first time in a long time, there are a ton of books that I am totally enjoying and looking foward to.

I am looking foward to Ultimates 3, I am loving Nextwave (a great, GREAT book involving b-list marvel characters like Machine Man and Boom Boom fighting giant robots and monsters and featuring a Nick Fury type of character who is totally insane), I am loving the Ultimate Galactus trilogy (Ultimate Nightmare, Ultimate Secret, and the current Ultimate Extinction), I am looking foward to Marvel's Civil War and others.

Sorry you had to shut down the comments section. That was something I was going to suggest if he would of kept up. Luckily with this forum, it's easier to keep crap like that out of here.

That is good news about Mad working hard on Ultimates vol 3. Its good to see him back in comics, and i cant wait to see his latest stuff. At first I wasnt sure how well his style would mesh with the Ultimates universe, but I cant help but love anything he does so im sure itll be amazing.

Yeah ya know I would say it doesn't effect me, but it really does. There's nothing like waking up to see what people are talking about, on the site you made and spent a lot of time on..then it turns out it's all just hateful remarks. That people actually spend time just to send you an email to tell you how much you suck, because they don't like the site...not even to Joe but to me. Sometimes I just feel like giving up...not just the site, but going on the internet at all. It's like I said in my email to you, there's one thing for opinions about something..you do or don't like a movie, etc and then there's the opinions were people just say this or that sucks and they if they just don't like it they could easily just move on, but they just want to post and upset people for no reason. I'm not a fan of diet Coke(an example) but I don't go to the Coke forums and tell everybody it sucks.

The thing that effected me this last time is that I had to ask Steven to take that comment section down and it was really cool. It was also cool to have Steven put this site together and have all these cool features and easier way to contact me and other fans, but then I have to ask him to take all that hard work he did down..because people just are extremely rude.

Then on top of all that if you ask them to stop then other people(and I don't mean you cause I wrote you and everything is cool) but other people jump in and say that I'm silencing those people's opinions and then they start in with the calling you a jerk and stuff, it really brings a person down. I mean I can't even have an email here anymore cause I just can't stand what people say.

What makes me wonder is do they get this kinda remarks on a site like conceptart.org, sometimes I see people leave remarks on their boards(not as bad as what I get here) and if they only knew the stuff that those guys were doing for them. That Jason Manley guy has spent tons of money on super servers, a 10,000$ scholarships, tons of cool art and so much more and I bet he does get hateful emails too and that's just crazy. I mean I'm only paying 11$ a month for this site, but still it sucks to put so much time and effort into something and somone can come and trash in about 10 secs.

The people that have a need to be rude and put others down do not belong here or any where for that matter. Their actions speak louder than anything they can type. To show any respect towards them is an insult to yourself and others that come here for fun and to see what Mad is up to. Do not feel bad that you had to take sections down because of them, feel better that they have one less way to show there Adolescence and Stupidity.

These are the type of people that cower in the corner that can not disgrace a person to their face, but rather hide behind a computer screen and act like they some how have dominance over the net and the way they think things should be done. On the net they are Trolls in real life they are simply pathetic individuals.

Nathen, a lot of people were upset when Mad’s original boards shut down, but now they have a place that is just as good as the original and a bit better in my opinion. You update here more often than the other site and you are also willing to help people. The people that enjoy your site will understand if you have to take extreme measures just to stop a few.

I definitely know how you feel, ive been insulted a few times on other forums, and its jarring to have a person you dont even know just attack you like that. But everyday, rational, sane people dont act like that, or at least they're not supposed to.

You and Steven put alot of work into this site, and everyone here is grateful for that. If it makes you feel any better, for every one lunatic like Jason, there are 10 or more people who appreciate what you do. People like Jason dont amount to anything in life because of how socially retarded they are.

Anyways, yeah, 2006 should be a good year for MAD fans. ;D
