Y'know, it kinda makes me disappointed to hear that Mad! is just now finishing issue two. I mean, they announced it back in August of 2005. What's he been doing for this long? Sigh. I know this is a touchy subject whenever someone whines about what is taking him so long. Oh well. I don't want to sound like a crybaby. Hey, I'm one of the biggest procrastinators in the world, so I have no room to talk. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes him a month to do a page, considering the detail he puts into his art. But man, I really want to see something! My guess is that Ultimates 3 will be shipped in the fall. I've waited this long...I think I can't wait some more. One thing came to mind. How far ahead Joe is may not entirely be because of Joe. You can only work on so much when you don't have a script to work from. Onslaught Reborn issue 4 was delayed a couple of months and Rob Liefeld said that he just recently recieved the script to 4. Jeph is also a busy guy from when he worked on Lost and Smallville, to his writing gig on Heroes. Just thinking aloud. ~Dave

Lateness (unintentional) is NOT a problem with Joe. Does anyone care to bring up his xmen run? I don't remember him being late with one book. BC is a totally different ballgame because that was HIS book and frankly, a creator has every right to be as late as he/she wishes with their own work, sure the fans suffer but that is the reality .

Joe was late a couple of times on x-men but that was around the end of his run cause he was also working on BC. The last x-men issue (trial of gambit) almost took like four months and they had to bring in a filler artist. Me personally, Joe could take his sweet time with the book cause I think he works best when he's under pressure. BC's art started really good then it seemed like he was rushing around issue # 5 (the big fight issue). But when u look at BC #9 (which was his best work ever) it seemed like he took his time on every single panel. I'll take a late book from Joe anyday then a rushed one.

Well yes, but i didn't count those because they were seriously due to a legit ocurrence such as working on something else. His run was not plagued with lateness and fill ins due to his slacking and being lazy as an artist and even if he was, he'd still be no.1 personally lol.

Here's another interview about the Loeb/Madureira/McGuinness Ultimate Books:
Asked when readers might see his and Joe Madureira’s Ultimates 3, Loeb joked that, in the interest of fairness, he had to admit that he was the one who kept calling Bryan Hitch and telling him to add more pages to issue #13 of Ultimates 2.
How much art is done by Madureira so far? Loeb: A lot, but I don’t want to get into that. It’s as famous for being last as it is for being a quality book, so I can tell you that when we have enough that we can ship monthly, or ever six weeks, we’ll go. That may mean there will be a break between Ultimates 2 and Ultimates 3 as there was between the first and second series.
Loeb said that the break between the two is something he’s come to see as an aid to the larger story, as there will have been roughly a year break between Ultimates 2 #13 and Ultimates 3 #1 during which characters will have left the team and joined it and other things within the team will have changed. Loeb said that he would like there to be enough time between the second and third series so that the third installment of the series is seen as its own story, rather than a continuation, and can stand on its own legs.
Loeb concluded by saying that he hopes to continue on with the characters past his already announced Ultimates 3 and 4, saying that he’s like to do up through Ultimates 6 and 7 with Ed McGuiness.
“I just love those characters,” Loeb said.
