This is old news but I have not seen any mention of it here on this site so I figured I would bring it up...
The first three issues of Ultimates 3 are to be collected in "March on Ultimatum". I think the cover for this collection will be the two page spread of Spiderman and Hawkeye from issue 2. I believe it will be in stores 6/18.
Here's an article on the collection over at CBR...http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=16503
What do you guys think of this? Personally, I don't see why they would collect 3 out of 5 issues rather than just wait until it's all done and do a complete collection, guess they are just trying to make as much money as possible. I hope Marvel still does a nice hardcover/trade with bonus material once the entire 5 issue arc is done.

That's ridiculous, really ridiculous. Just another lame sales spin of Marvel. It makes no sense at all.

They did it more recently with Thor and they did it with Civil War. What they do, especially if a comic sells out really fast is do these 3 issue collections so people who missed out originally can pick it up and read issue 4 when it comes out the week after this one comes out. And before you ask over and over again, YES they will release a proper collection when it's all over with. Type in Madureira on Amazon.com, and it lists a hardcover for "Ultimates:Sex Lies and DVDs". It's probably not going to be an oversized hardcover like Ultimates 1 &2, since those are usually for runs that are 8-12 issues, it's probably going to be one of their "Premiere Hardcovers", like Thor, or Thunderbolts.

We should all wait until the series is over, that is, if it is ever finished.

DaveCummings is right, Marvel has done this before. I guess it is a cool way for people who missed the first issues to jump in and get the latest issue the following week. Especially with the delay between issues 3 and 4, this little collection may snag some new fans and remind people that the series is still in happening.
I look forward to the proper collection, hope they throw in some extras too!

I have to agree with you guys on that one. Now, when they have all five issues in one book, no one will pick it up cause this has been printed a million times already. They should have save them for a hard cover or someting.

They should have save them for a hard cover or someting. Like I said, they printed it not for the people who already bought the book, but for the ones who missed out first time around to get caught up. And by no means will it affect the collection of all 5 issues. Civil War, which came out a year or two ago, had a massive amount of various printings, some of which are still being released (Civil War Chronicles), the first printings selling around 300,000 copies. The collected version with all the issues was not hurt in the slightest by this. As a matter of fact, it was and still is one Marvel's best selling collections. You need to keep in mind that the tpb/hcs attract both the completists who want everything by the creators as well as the casual fans who had forgone the single issues in favor of the collected version. You cannot fault Marvel for this. What they're doing is making it available for anyone. You really shouldn't complain, because really, no one is forcing you to buy it.

I'm not complaining at all, I get everyting Joe Mad. They could print a million version and I'll get them all. I just think I rather have a hard cover of all the issues. If they are gonna reprint the same stories 20 diffrent times, they might as well put sketches or behind the scenes stuff in them.
