Just wow. First off, Joe Mad's art was stellar, as usual... But Jeph Loeb.... "In fact Jan, I've come to think of you as my mother.." Then Hank Pym, "Then that makes me the Mother ^$%^#$!"
Seriously? I feel like that is a 6th grade comment, when you first find that saying something bad is fun. I find it hard to believe that Marvel allowed this comment, I mean seriously.
Yea, unlike most people here, I found the story simply ridiculous and, quite frankly, downright idiotic. But before people go nuts, that in no way diminishes the fact that Mad's art is simply astonishing, I just wish he had done a reboot of BattleChasers... Or SOMETHING other than this trash Loeb writes.

I didn't have many problems with the issue, but that line was cringe-worthy. I don't know what Loeb/editors were thinking.
I am not a hardcore fan of the previous Ultimates volumes so this new approach does not bother me. However, I can totally see how fans of the previous volumes are upset, it's a totally different kind of comic. In general (IMO), the U3 story is not great, at best I would say it's entertaining, but I am there for the art and that alone makes the whole package very enjoyable!

I was one of the ones that fell in love with the art but the writting was really awful. There was at least one cheesy line in every issue "suck it" "Come with me if you want to live" and my new favorite "Then that makes me the mother F%^#$%" . I don't know what happened with Loeb's writting but it's really hard to believe that this came from the same guy that wrote Hush and Long Halloween

Dont worry hsarb, we know how awful the writing has been. And I doubt anyone of rational mind could even defend a line like that. It's almost like a vulgar George Lucas is writing this series.
