has anyone read ultimatum - what the heck has Jeph Loeb done! he has totally written off years of stella work by millar and hitch. i wouldnt know where to start in giving the reasons its bombing all i can say is : TAXI FOR LOEB! The art isnt much to boot either however if it was written by Ennis,Millar or somone with a thrilling adn equally dark honoured style it may have worked.

Careful there sonny, or you'll get stuck in the 'rants' section. But I have to agree with you, ultimatum was a return to a largely out-dated style of comic writing, with 2-D characterization and weak plotting. Don't get me wrong I still bought the thing but mainly for Mad's art ( there is still a ton to learn from old mad, even on his off days)this was a real shift for me as previous volumes were bought primarily for the writing. Although I hear they may be returning.
And the Black panther? I knew it was Cap all along.

i enjoed the first 2 volumes and soley for Joes art i enjoyed v3. yes like you said there is going to be a proposed 2 new ultimate books - The Ultimates(Loeb/..) and The new avengers (Millar/Yu), I think the millar book will be the original team. Marvel are so hit and miss -
On a positive note - Marvel have resurected the Ult Wolve/Hulk mini series
