Wow, it has been so dead on the Joe Mad front. I hope this means we're in for some exciting news and artwork soon. Anybody have anything interesting to report??

Yeah, it's been way too quiet. Joe hasn't posted here in almost a year. I wish Joe had a Deviantart account (Jim Lee just made one!) or a sketch blog. It would be great to see sketches that are done for Darksiders or just for fun. And I hope we get to see that Darksiders comic!

In addition to you guys' words, I also hope they're both ok, JoeM@d on Deviant = awesome to the nth degree, but I wonder if he'd have time to even post anything lol. He should let Nathen manage his Deviant as well LOL. Hell even Nathen is probably too busy at the moment as well lol.

Hey guys yeah I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I really wish I did have some new art to post and I have been pretty busy. I'm in the process of getting my passport to go on vacation with my girlfriend. We're planning on going to the Caribbean then next year Vietnam. I work nights so I have to stay up all day to go downtown and getting all the paperwork done, so I've been pretty tired lately.
Plus to be honest I've been feeling pretty down about the site. There were some big things going on and then it just sorta crumbled. I was told by some of the guys on the Darksiders game that they wanted me to help create and up keep the DS website and get all the content to post for you guys.
On top of that they were actually going to pay me, so pretty much I would be working on the game team, a pretty sweet deal. Mad! sent me the same images they were going to post or one that I should've posted on their site but then was told not to post them because they were exclusive to their site and told to hold off on posting images. Then they said there really wasn't a place on the team blah blah and they would at least send me a sweatshirt and a poster. I got the shirt and the poster but still I feel bummed not to work on the team.
They're really nice guys. I'm not saying anything bad about them, just kind of let down to not be in on all the cool stuff going on. Also now I really can't get any new images they have unless Mad! sends them and even then I probably wouldn't be able to post them until they do on their site first. So you guys probably won't see any new images here until the Darksiders site is updated or Mad! works on a different project. I will of course update as soon as they do, I check their site everyday.
I have been sent some stuff by some members and just haven't got to answering emails and posting the stuff they've sent. I'll try to get to it this weekend it's nothing really new as a far as images go but still cool. I've tried contacting Mad! but only got a quick reply so again nothing new to post.

Hi Madman!, great to see a new post from you. Sorry to hear you didn't get to work with the Darksiders team in the capacity you'd hoped. At least you got some cool stuff! Hopefully Joe will get back to you with some interesting news/material in the not so distant future. It's a slow time for us Joe Mad fans but with the game coming out relatively soon I'm sure some nice new stuff is on the way. I guess keeping an eye on Darksidersvideogame.com is a good idea for right now, though they don't seem to post much interesting stuff. Anyway, I look forward to any and all updates to this site regardless of how small. Thanks for keeping JoeMadFan alive!

Very sorry to hear that Nathen. But you know....you've had this site running for a very VERY long time and is probably the best (in terms of Mad content) site on the entire web lol. No turning back now unless its financial issues, etc, then I perfectly understand. Do not let that episode trip you up too much . You can always vent here anyway lol. Sure the forums are down and may be a bit quiet for a time, thats ok. I definitely hope it is a season, as we've had them more than a few times before. I wish you and your GF well in any event (actually....I blame HER for the forum silence and your disappearance!!!!!!!!!!.................................j/k lol!)

I really don't get it , shouldn't the guys at Vigil Games try anything possible to promote the game. If anything posting stuff here will only get more people interested.

Yeah I know, but everything is scheduled and planned out in advanced when you make a game, this includes the release of screenshots, interviews, everything. And if there are problems in the production it can affect the release of all that info. I understand your frustration though, as a Mad fan. If only he'd start an art blog....

Unfortunately, I think things will be more like way things were around 2003-2004, when we haven't really heard anything about Joe.

I hope not, DaveCummings, but you could be right. It's rough being a fan of Joe's sometimes, there's a lot of boom and bust, rarely a consistent flow of news and art. It would be cool if Joe had a blog or DeviantArt gallery where he could pop in once in a while, share some news and post a sketch or two, that would go a long way! Anyway, I hope there will be some activity soon. It looks like Darksiders will be out by late summer so there should be some excting stuff coming before then.

don't be down dude. I'm sure they wanted to work with you. But it's a huge collective decision, and a lot of money is at stake. And a lot of the people who make decisions on video games are people in business suits who don' tknow anything and are just doodoo heads. They tell all the creative people what to do and they have all the money, and the creative people just have to struggle to make a somewhat good product while all those ogres are breathing down their necks and constraining what they can and can't do. That's just the way the world works.
I mean...dude. Joe Madureira responds to your emails. If you achieve nothing else in your entire life you will still be my hero forever based on that fact alone.
What did Joe say in his quick reply to you? Or what was the basic gist of it? Does Joe still love Battle Chasers and want to go back to it someday? Did Joe do the Ultimates because he has plans to get back into comics, or did Marvel approach him and he fit it into his schedule. Is he still doing work on Darksiders? Since the game is already done I would assume there is no more drawing to be done. Is he drawing for the sequel already? Or is he moving on to another Vigil games project? When will he be free to talk about his plans for the future beyond Darksiders? Will we have to wait until Darksiders is finished?

Heya peoplez, how are you all?
It has been rather quiet here but that shouldn't get you people down. I mean, being the best artist on the face of the earth, Joe has given us lots of beautiful art and comics to draw inspiration from. I read some of his posts previously and one thing I can gather is that Joe wants us to draw too. He always encourages us to draw. That's the characeristic of a true champion.
Look at Arnold Schwartzennger, he always encourages people to be active and strong. He always enjoyed inspiring people to hit the gym. In the same way, I'm sure Joe wants us to produce some art work ourselves. There'z no use in idolizing anyone, we gotta be active in our art appreciation. Get some paper and pencils together and give it a go. That's what I'm doing too. I want to post some artwork on my site because that's what Joe wants us to do: get involved.
And it's true what they say: The teacher always wants his/her pupil to be bether than him/her.
If you truly love Joe's artwork and input, follow in his footsteps. I get lots of enjoyment when I sit down to draw and I'm sure all of you will too. I've drawn an awesome pic of a knight charging forward on his horse, holding his lance! And you can easily see Joe's influence in my art too.
Let's draw!

Heya,
Infact, I just had an idea: I wanna try to do a BattleChasers story myself!
I wanna give it a go, it sounds like an awesome challenge!
I love challenges!
