OK, it's really, really dead around here so I figured I could start up a fanboyish little topic and ask what it is exactly that people like about Joe's work... Why do you get such a kick out of his stuff??

his art is fresh and unique at that time. he started the anime / manga revolution during the 90s

his unique representation of characters of different titles and properties.....the way he illustrates special effects(especially the "crumbs" efx)......his anatomy......his women.....and last but not least....his expressions!

Cool, I totally agree with all the stuff mentioned here.
My two cents... I love the energy in Joe's work. His stuff is super dynamic, always looks exciting and appears to be in motion. His vision of anatomy is awesome too. His style just makes any character or environment look like the coolest possible version of itself. Can't get enough of Joe's work, we need some new Darksiders art soon!!

Yeah, definitely the energy of his poses, and just the strength of his draftsmanship. I love that he has an exaggerated style, and yet he still gets an incredible level of detail out of any character or environment he does. I mean there are times when you can just stare for 10 min at a page he drew, and still not take in every bit of detail he put into it.
