Just got the preorder from GameStop and I must say that I am truly impressed with the quality of the free Bonus Artbook.
This looks like premium stuff to me. Now let us delve into this War !
By the Way! Am I wrong or this book is not all pencils by Joe Mad ?

I got the game, along with the graphic novel/artbook. The "graphic novel" is actually only 22 pages, standard comic, the rest of the book has concept art. Personally, I enjoyed the comic, I hope they make a regular series out of it and Joe is involved in some capacity. The concept art section of the book is pretty cool, I wish there was more of Joe's work and a little bit better quality in the presentation of the images.
As for the game, I have played a little bit of it so far and it rocks hard. I am not a gamer, this is the first game I have played in years, totally bought it just because of Joe's involvement. The game is so cool though, the characters all look awesome, the story is sweet, and the gameplay is solid, def. good stuff.
Looks like the game is a big hit, so huge congrats to Joe and everyone else who worked on it!! The bittersweet aspect of this is that we probably won't be seeing much comic book work from Joe for a good while. I dig seeing his concept work when it surfaces but nothing compares to having a full comic book illustrated by him.

LabSOUND : I was shocked when I saw that Joe didn't draw the comic, I mean that was the whole point of it right ? I can understand that many artists would work on the designs of a game but if you have Joe Mad around, why not have the man draw a couple of panels, he's so darn good at it ! Maybe it has something to to with him leaving his niche. It always boggles my mind when someone else tries to emulate Joe's art style.

I picked up the game yesterday, gotta say Im enjoying it thus far. Yeah I was kinda disappointed that joe didn't draw the comic portion of the art book, but I sure he's busy. I read today that he's doing a script for a potential Darksiders movie adaptation.
@seibomegas: I agree, I'm also not a fan of MAD emulators either. When I first started reading the comic I though to myself, man joe's slipping. But when I saw that Ludo Lullabi did the pencils I was like WTF!?!

I could be wrong but didn't Joe say he was going to draw the comic book of Darksiders?

I got it for the PS3. So far I am currently 9 hours into the game and have just got Ruin. I am at the Stygian (giant worm) battle. As I stated in another post, nothing tremendously original in gameplay. It borrows from the God of War series as well as Zelda, Prince of Persia, and maybe a little from Devil May Cry, but there is nothing bad about that. Those are great games and if you are going to borrow from something, it may as well be those games. Pretty much everything has been done in games. There is not that much territory left to cover in video games and yet Vigil throws in a few new twists here and there. Overall this game (so far) has been a real fun experience to play. Great story and great artwork (duh). I bought Call of Duty-Modern Warfare 2 Saturday night and only played it once for like one hour compared to my 9 hours of Darksiders in the first 30 hours since Tuesday night. I had work today so I haven't been able to pick it up but the game has definitely kept my attention and I can't wait to finish it. Congratulations goes out to Joe and the amazing people who helped make the game. Very nice first outing for those at Vigil and I look forward to their next game.

I got the Xbox one first and I just reached the tower so I'm pretty sure I'm near the end. I have to wait until the weekend to finish. I'll probably buy the PS3 one as well it's probably one of my favorite games of all time.
