Hey i was just wondering if anyone has the darksiders art book yet?
cause if you do i have some questions.
how much percentage of the book is drawn by Joe Mad?
How much pages does it have?
and finally out of 10 what would you give it?

The book begins with a regular comic book length comic story and is not illustrated by Joe at all. The comic is followed by a concept art portion which has a good amount of Joe Mad sketches but not as many as I would have liked to have seen. Some of the material featured in the book has also been viewable online for a long time so not all the art will be new to you unless you haven't been following the Darksiders art on the internet. There's definitely some great stuff in the book but overall I think they could have pushed things further and featurd a lot more of Joe's work. A lot of the art is reproduced pretty small, with multiple images crammed onto one page, would have been nice to see more of the art at a larger size. There are also no art credits that I can see so there are some pieces that you may not be able to identify as definite Joe Mad art. There are other very talented artists that worked on the game and a lot of their art is mixed in with Joe's.
I'm thankful that there is an artbook at all but I don't think it is as satisfying, particularly for fans of Joe Madureira's work, as it could/should have been. I would give the book a 7 or 8 out of 10. Hopefully we'll get even better stuff for Darksiders 2!!

There is some really cool drawings by Joe of Abaddon that personally are some of my favorite images and I've already asked Joe to send some bigger files along with the Play Magazine cover(I just wrote him like 2 sec ago), hopefully he can send them soon.
Yes most of the book has other artists, but the artwork is still really amazing. I'm loving the designs of all the characters and it's a great book to have even if Joe isn't featured in it much.
I hope to that they will still release I full sized artbook in the future or for when DS2 comes out.
If I gave it a score it would be 8.5 just because of the size and not having more Mad artwork, but It's a artbook I would definitely buy and is still one of my all time favorites..again the character designs are really cool.
