Hey Keitaro, I have the sketchbook that came with pre-ordering the game, the one wi th the comic inside. Are there any new Joe pieces in this book that didn't appear in the first sketchbook?
I'm trying to decide if there's enough new Joe art to make this worth buying. Same with the BC hardcover!

I pre-ordered on Amazon, have to wait until the end of the month to check the book out!
Anyway, those who have gotten it already, you guys should totally share some reviews. I have the same big question that mikebowden posted, is there a substantial amount of new material from Joe Mad in the book???

I bought the Limited hardcover one.
I really have mixed feelings towards the book. On one hand it's probably one of my favorite artbooks of all time. I really love Paul Richards designs and there is tons of art in the book. On the other hand most of it is already stuff I've seen on his website and there really isn't any Joe Mad art in there that hasn't been seen either like just one or 2 pictures actually and they are really small. But if I were to say buy it or not I would still definitely buy this book in a heatbeat.

Ah man, madman, your review has bummed me out. I was totally pumped to see tons of never before seen Joe Mad art. Ah well, I am sure the book is worth having anyway.
That said, I hope we get a truly substantial Joe Mad release soon, it's been too long since we've gotten a really nice amount of new art. Joe should totally hop on the bandwagon with his fellow comics creators and self publish a sketchbook annually loaded with new stuff. This would please the fans and earn Joe some nice profit.

Hey All, Sorry for the late reply. If you want to see the interiors of the book, check the link: parkablogs.com/content/coming-soon-art-of-darksidersI agree with Madman, same old content along with some new content. I think its a plus for me since i wasn't lucky enough to get the in game comic that was with the game. I really like their concept designs of the Charred Council, you will see how they evolved. I also liked the concept face designs of Samael. The concept designs of the locations is pretty sweet to look at. Just be careful with the spine otherwise you might get pages falling off like what happened to my friend's copy. There are a lot of grammatical errors in the book but who cares right? Lols Plus Darksiders 2 is slated for a November 2012 release. Definitely a buy

The book came in the mail today. Very nice book but I must say as a fan of Joe Mad I am let down. I expected to see a ton of new artwork that had not been plastered all over the internet and gaming mags over the past several years, this is not what I got. There are a few cool new pieces by Joe but most of them are printed small and don't have a ton of impact.
The book in general is a good "art of" book, no denying that. It's loaded with art and has solid production values. It just has way too little Joe Mad art for a book with "Joe Madureira Presents" in the title.
I really hope we get some big news on Joe's Marvel project soon and start to get some more substantial releases featuring Joe's art. The Art of Darksiders just did not do the trick.
