Hey everyone,
Just curious to know what exactly everyone enjoys about Mad's artwork. I didn't find a thread about this, so I thought it would be fun to discuss.
Personally, Mad's work has always had this abstract "coolness" factor that I've never seen in any other work. It's just so d**n cool. The first Mad artwork I ever saw was his Scorpion in PSM...blew me away. I just had to say "wow!". It was probably the fusion of anime/manga with American superheroes that I was really attracted to, but I just loved the way he drew everything.
How bout everyone else?

For me it’s got to be his character design and detail. I like the way he always remembers to draw the little imperfections, like scratches on metal and marks on cloth. Then there is the action. Joe knows how to put body’s in motion. When you look at one of his actions pitchers you feel the energy that the characters are consuming, you can almost see them moving. That’s what I like.

I like his art because of the action, style, and detail.

I first got into joe mad after borowing some battle chasers comics from my friend. But the reason why I like his work is because his work is so detailed in every aspect of his comic panles or just one of his drawings. the backround is detailed the 4ground is detailed everything is detailed. But the detail is never distracting from the main image. And his style is very edgy but not over the top wich makes it very intresting to look at.

Well, there are tons of reasons to like MAD!'s art. First - I really like bookshelf-like hudge sword wellding warriors, second - everything in his comics is so detailed. There are many factors, I won't list them all.

I’m with snow. You have got to love the size of some of Mad!s characters.
