Looks great! Can't wait for Wednesday.
I really hope Joe is true to his word and we see him return to the book. Three issues was great but too short a run!

Wow, those pencils are so nice. Loved this issue.
Mentioned on the letters page of issue three that Joe's next arc will feature Wolverine and Elektra. Joe drawing Wolvey and Spidey sounds like good times to me.

I think the new Mad Arc will start with number 7 or 8.
In the other hand, what you fan boys think about the first arc of Avenging? I love Joe Mad art in this series but , for me, his better issue was Battle Chasers #7. And I compare everything with this issue. When I see AVSP I see lot of power in the characters and with the composition, but I miss some backgrounds ( yes, I know is Joe Mad) and I think there are too many black silhouettes in some pages.
Whatever, is a dream for everyone in this forum to see 6 or 7 Mad issues every year ( it was the promise that make Stephen Wacker, Avenging Spiderman editor). We pray for it!

I loved this arc. The story was simple but fun. It had a nice mix of action and humor which is what a Spiderman book should have. I think the Saturday morning action adventure cartoon tone of the story worked really well with Joe's style.
As for Joe's art on this arc, I think it's great. The character work and dynamic compositions are top notch. Who knew Moleman could look so cool?? That said, I agree it's not as polished as his Battle Chasers stuff and the backgrounds leave something to be desired. Silhouettes are overused too. I'd also love to see the stuff inked.
Negative criticisms aside, I think Joe's work has evolved in positive ways post-Battle Chasers. His knowledge base appears to have grown. There's a richer sense of form and structure to his drawings than ever before. You can see this in how he draws faces and hands in particular. There's a lot going on with the muscles and bone structure of the faces. The way Joe draws hands just gets better and better too, coolest styleized hands in the biz. The stuff is just so fun to look at.
I can't wait for more. I'm excited to see Joe's Wolverine in action again, he does one of the best renditions of the character.
