Hey all, just curious what other types of art and artists Joe's fans are into?
Personally, I like a wide range of artists from comics, animation, illustration, fine art, and pretty much anything that involves good drawing.
The real big people on my list of favorites, in no particular order, are J.C. Leyendecker, Peter de Seve, John Singer Sargent, Glen Keane, Alex Toth, Mike Wieringo, Travis Charest, Mike Mignola, Adam Hughes, Ed Mcguinness, Joe MAD, Greg Capullo, Phil Hale, Jeffrey Jones, Moebius, Frazetta...it goes on and on.
So, who are the big guns that inspire you?

Wow I got so many it's hard to choose..I'll try though but I know i'll be missing some and probably could change some around. Old School Masters: Da Vinci(I have so many books on him it's crazy), Mucha, Watterhouse. Current: kevin Chen, Feng Zhu, Iain McCaig, Ryan Church..hell all the artists that were on Star Wars, Andrew Jones, Nox, Jason Manley..again most of the artists featured on Concept art. An artist I just came arcoss Cannibal Candy www.mercilessdesign.com/ check out his sketchbook and everything on his site truly inspiring. and of course is Joe Mad! hands down the winner.

I agree with Madman! So many to list! But heres the artists that come to mind for me....
COMIC ARTISTS Well, Joe Mad! goes without saying. Leinil Yu is in the top three along with the great Jim Lee. Travis Charest is great, too. Other comic book artists in no particular order are: Joshua Middleton, Dustin Nguyen, Michael Turner, J. Scott Campbell, Chris Bachalo, The Kuberts (All), John Romita Sr. and Jr., Phil Noto, Jae Lee.
ANIME/MANGA ARTISTS Metal Gear Solid's Yoji Shinkawa is also a great influence. Ayame Kojima from the Castlevania series and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure creator Hirohiko Araki are both great. The guy who did Trigun is good. As well as whomever did the series Outlaw Star.
PAINTERS Um....Drew Struzan's movie posters are so amazing (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc.). They just released the Indiana Jones 4 movie poster. Awesome. Frank Frazetta and the great Norman Rockwell are up there too. Oh, and Alphonse Mucha. Can't forget that one!
SO MANY!!!!
Hmmm....well, thats all I can think of right now. I'll post some pictures up maybe along with anymore artists I think of. Alright, lets keep this list going. Ready....go!

Payne, Gary Kelly Man, there are so many, I just can't get enough of the stuff. Keep the favorites coming, I want to find some new inspirations!

I like this one Here is my humble opinion for the mix!
CLASSIC Gerome - inspired the film Gladiator and his famous work is my avator Frazzetta - just look at the nude painting of the panther & Woman Da Vinci - Inspired everyone Constable - Probably Englands best landscape artist?? Carravagio - A true rebel bad ass, injected true sinister nastyiness into his works.
MODERN MEDIA Scott McDaniel - Dynamic Adam Kubert - great all-rounder BW Smith - Loved his works on Conan - made the comic read like an epic movie John Bryne - inspired the best today, easy to see why Joe Mad - like Ali is to boxing!

Well I went to the Massive Black convention this weekend, that's why I haven't been around. It was truly amazing to see so much great art and listen to some really helpful instruction demos. I've been a fan of these guys work for a long time but after seeing it up close it's truly amazing. Two guys that really stood out are people I've had on my favorite links page for awhile Wes Burt and El Coro seeing their sketchbooks this weekend blew my mind, the details and creativity that are in them are amazing. If you haven't check out their links on links section..I really wish you could see the art in person..I would kill to have one of their books. Oh and they are super cool guys too Wes answered every question I had and I listened the whole time and he answered everyone's questions.
