Hi there, I am a new member to this website though I have visited it for a while now. I'm a big MAD fan.
I am trying to learn how to use photoshop for inking drawings that I have done. I've seen some of the art work around the site and thought this would be a good place to ask if anyone has any suggestion as to tutorials or books that I could get to research it.
Thank you kindly, Tony

You can 'ink' with Photoshop by playing with the 'brightness/contrast' and the 'curves' menus. both are under 'image/adjustments'. What you do is make the greys darker and eliminate marks on the drawings that the scanner picks. If it for print, scan at 300 dpi, do the work with those menus and maybe, you'll need to use the 'lasso/path' tools for any correction. There are some colored pieces at my website that are not inked, I made those for practice which means that I scanned them at only 72 dpi, which is not good for printing, just for showing on the monitor. Hope that helps. www.planeta3.net

i stick to traditional inking... then scan them and clean off the unwanted pencil marks in photoshop... but with well render sketches, i usually painter over them in painter or photoshop so that it keeps the artist's feel and raw imagery of his drawing intact making it look cool like those PSM mad covers the one resident evil 3 or 4, final fantasy 10 etc.
