I know that Madman! has already posted how to do the same thing that I'm talking about here. I'm just hopping that by taking you step by step through the upload we will get more members to post there works on the site.
I put this little instruction sheet together for anyone that has not had the opportunity to post there images to the web before and would like to give it a try. It's not hard and you should have no trouble with it. Let me know if there is anything I can change in this instruction set to make it more helpful.
First you will want to print or write down the instructions that I am giving you here. Once you get going you don’t what to have to swap back and forth from one screen to the next to see what the next step is.
Click on this linkimageshack.us/ and look at the top right hand side of the page. You will see a Brows button. You will use this brows button to locate the image that you want to post on the net. This image file should be somewhere on your hard drive, Most likely in the “my documents” section.
Click on the brows button. A new window opens listing folders and files that you have on your computer. From here you need to find the file of the image that you would like to post.
Use the windows navigation buttons to find the image file that you want to post and select it.
With the image file that you intend to post selected, click the open button located in the bottom right of the window.
The window closes and you are back to the Image shack window where you first clicked on the brows button.
Verify that the file you want to post to the web is now located in the text box just to the left of the brows button.
Under the text box that contains the file name of the image you are posting you will see an empty text box. You will need to enter an email address into this box. The email is for registration purposes only. (I always use my Google email account because I never look in it.)
Click the “Host it!” button located in the middle of the screen.
It might take a few seconds to bring up your image so don’t worry.
A new window will open with a small version of your image located in the center. Once you see your image you are all done! Just one more thing you have to do.
You will notice a line of text at the top of the page that says:
“Please use clickable thumbnail codes (they save ImageShack's bandwidth)”
Just under this line are three light gray boxes with text in them. Each box contains a link to your image. You use the links to post your image on a forum.
Take a second to have a look at the text located to the right side of each of these gray boxes. They say Thumbnail for website, Thumbnail for forums 1, and Thumbnail for forums 2. You will won’t to use the forums options in this case. So let’s just use forums 1 to start.
Click once on the gray box that is to the left of the text Thumbnail for forums 1. This will select all the text in the box.
Right click the same box and click copy.
Now open up a new message in the forum you want to post the image to. Past the link into the message by right clicking and selecting past.
Be careful not to modify this text in any way. You can type a message above it and below it but don’t mess with the link.
Then post the message.
Give this a try and tell me how it goes.
