So what happened with the title, exactly? The website itself looks as if it was never canceled (although I didn't look long).

Well the Exarch site isnt down, but the realm interactive site is. I'm guessing that NcSoft is in charge of the site, which they're probably just to busy working on other games to bother to take it down yet. As far as why Exarch was cancelled I have no idea.

Is Joe bad luck for video game projects? He doesn't have a great track record. I was really looking forward to Exarch. I want to see a finished project from him.

well I would say no he's not bad luck. Why does everyone think because the games got canceled it was his fault. The reason the games got so much exposure in the first place is the fact alone that Mad! was working on the projects. Everybody would have just thought of Exarch or Dragonkind as just another MMORPG or RPG game, but since it was his style that was brought to the games that really was the only interesting thing I really saw in the games that were different from any other game. I mean look at that new Batman game that Jim Lee did the character design for the new bad guy. I'm sorry that game sucks, so does that mean it was all Jim Lee's fault that game was crap..no.
to kinda go off your comment "I want to see a finished project from him" as much as I just said that his art was the whole selling point behind the games. He was a concept artist and gave a lot of input, but the games weren't his alone. I would think that if he was on a much better company like something like Squaresoft or something like that. Then whatever game he would've been on would've come out. I'm sorry but I never even heard of NcSoft until Mad! came into the picture and I play tons of games.
and I'm not trying to argue with you so don't get think I'm getting upset or anything. I'm just answer your question with what I think. When I said "Why does everyone think cause the games got canceled it was his fault" that's not directed at you or anything else I said was not directed at you.

Sounds like we all just love Mad!s work, and can't wait to see it in more games. But don't forget, he did do the work in Gekido, which was not the best side-scrolling fighting game in the world, but the art kicked butt and I'm proud to have it in my collection.
Hmmm... this sounds like a good topic for another board...

yeh gekido was pretty kickin for a new school brawler, and i gotta disagree with u madman, i loved rise of sin tzu! who cares what the magazines said, i had a blast beating up bad guys in batman animated style! but i am kind of a sucker for brawlers......  |

Well thanks for bringing it up because that's also what I wanted to say. The whole Batman game sucked wasn't really the point, that's my opinion. The difference is I can back it up that wasn't a very good game with sales and magazine game ratings. Now you like the game and that's fine it's a great game to you.
What I was saying is that they brought Jim Lee definitely one of the all time top comic book artist and whether you don't like him or not. I think people would've to agree he is still on the top. Now they brought him in and the game whether I liked it or not it didn't do so well, is that his fault no. I mean it would be like Halo. I can't stand Halo, but hey I can't deny that it's one of the top selling games and that masses love it and people could back it up with ratings and sales. Take Legend of Legaia I love that game, but not that many do saying it's the best that's my opinion. Can I say it was the greatest game of all time, based on my opinion and experience with the game then yeah on of the top for me. Though with sales and the amount of people that said they liked it, it would be pretty hard to make it a fact that it's the best game ever. People and I'm not taking about anyone on the boards say yeah it was Mad's fault the games got canceled that's an opinion not a fact.
and I'm not saying anything directed at you. This is all to add to what I was saying before. I don't want this to start an arguement or a flame war. Opinions are fine I'm just getting tired of people claiming them as fact specially on something they seem to know very little about and that I mean Joe Mad.

Yowza. I meant it as a joke. I don't believe that anyone would truly believe that Joe Mad or any other person for that matter could be bad luck for anything really. I was just trying to express what a bummer it is for both of those projects (dragonkind & exarch) to fail. I was looking forward to both and of course it was because Mad was involved. I was seriously planning on making Exarch my next big PC game investment (of time & $) but that's not gonna happen. The game just looked better graphically than my other options and you know who's mainly responsible for that.

Well like I said in both of those posts I made that nothing was directed at anyone here on the boards. I was just going off what both of you said just making comments nothing in anger or anything like that. Whether or not it was a joke I was just going off your comments about what a lot of people do say. I wasn't really looking at your post to be a flame or if it was joke or whatever, so no real need for the Yowza like I didn't get it. I was just making comments kinda like you were basically just answering what I thought to your question.
To add to what you just said in your last post a lot of people do believe it. You really can't go on any message anymore with out somebody mention Mad! and then a couple posts later someone says Mad! couldn't produce a comic on time and now 2 games I'm so over Mad! or something along those lines. Again just going off your comments I'm not trying to argue with you or anything like that.

Don't worry DJ, I got the joke and I wouldn't be surprised if everybody else did as well. It's truly unfortunate about Exarch, especially since I get a sense that Joe is even more into video games then he is comic books. But I have confidence that the next project that is successful will blow us all away (no pressure on Mad! or anything  . |

Also let's not forget that joe did Darken Skye! To me the story and characters where great but I kinda didn't like the fact that it was about skittles. d**n you SKITTLES!!! Wowww, found and orange SKITTLE! YEAH!!!
