Ok, Best I can tell Windowview, Madman!, Kable, and my self are the only ones that have completed there first card and mailed them off. That means Mars and Maverick are the only ones that haven’t responded. The thing that concerns me is that not one person has posted a card yet. Today is the last day of the time allotted for the first card and it should be sent off today!! If you will not be able to do this and you would like to continue in the project then you need to send me a PM the next time you log in otherwise you will be removed from the project. This PM that you send me should give an update on what’s going on.

Three things that are very important

1) If you have sent your card off and haven’t heard back from the person that you sent it to, and its been more then too weeks from the time you sent it, I need to know. Send me a PM
2) If you received your card in the mail and haven’t sent a PM to the artiest, you need to do so now
3) If you have sent your card off and the recipient has informed you that they received the card then you, the artiest, need to post the image to the forum under the “completed art trading cards thread”.

If by Friday you still haven’t heard back on your card and you feel that the member you sent it to should have it by now, then please post your digital copy of the image so that the rest of us can see it.
Next Monday we will start the second card. I will post a message to the boards on Monday that gives the dead line for the second card. If I haven’t heard from Mars and Maverick by then I will be taking them name off the project. So let me know what’s going on you two. Let me know what’s up. I want all of us to have fun with this and I don’t want to exclude any one so send me a PM.

Finally, don’t send your second card off yet. The list of members that I gave you to send your cards to might be changing if I don’t hear back from Mars and Mav.

If you have any questions let me know. And to all of you that have been putting the time into this thank you. We have had somewhat of a slow start but I am sure we will get the bumps smoothed out and things will pick up.

Project Trading Cards - Update

Ok, we are off to a good start. We have completed the first card and have had a look at what some of the cards look like. I suspect that more cards will show up on the boards in the next few days so keep a look out. Most of you are participating and I hope that you are learning from this activity. I know that we have had a few bumps, coming up with ideas that are based on the theme and also with getting cards mailed out on time. We need to remember that we learn as we go and creativity is something that can’t be rushed. It is also important to remember that deadlines are a reality in the real world. For those of you who have hopes to get your work published some day you need to know that you may not be able to rush creativity but you can default on a contract and loss your publisher. For the rest of use that just don’t care, well try to get your cards mailed off on time for the sake of the other members.

So let’s get started on the second card. You will have three weeks starting today to complete the second card and have it mailed to the recipient. That’s the 14th of May incase you don’t have a calendar laying around.. As for the theme, it will stay the same. I have however, decided that I will make a small change that might benefit those that struggled to come up with an idea. I am going to add a second theme! If you want to keep to the first theme, by all means do it. If you would like to give your creative hand a try at the second theme go for it. Just make sure that your card represents one of the two themes please.
The second theme is “Power”.

Finally, I will be sending a PM to everyone with an updated mailing list. So don’t mail any cards until you know who you are supposed to mail it to. The new mailing list should be sent to you today barring any crazy events on my end that would keep me from typing it up.

If you have sent out any cards and have not posted a message here please do so as soon as you can. I would like to know how is still wanting to send and receive cards. I will be working on a few cards soon and I hope to send them out to anyone that might like to have one.

Also I think that I want to change the way we have been doing this. If you would like to participate in the project just post your name and I will make sure that you get up to speed. In this way there will be no time requirements as this has been a big problem for most of us including my self.
