That Iron Man sketch nearly brought me to my knees...so awsome....and Scarlett Witch too...luscious....
It was a double bonus for me yesterday....I had this subliminal urge to go check the freebee box at the comic-shop, where they stash old promotional posters and RPG catalogues....BOOM! They had a FULL SIZE poster of that Wolvie/Hulk/Spidey Joe Mad piece! PERFECT CONDITION!!!! It was folded into 6ths, but it looked like thats how it came (which is a shame...) but other than that....PERFECT!!! No wrinkles or nuthin! I had to come here and share my blessing with you all!

Is this issue 172? cause 173 is suppose to have Mad! stuff in it as well. Man those sketches are tight I can't wait to get the mag...man I hate Iron Man and Mad! just made me love him. I don't think you'd have to worry about Mad! it's Wizard you don't want to piss off, but if this is issue 172 then it's out tomorrow so no biggie.

omg you guys are darn fast lol! Just picked this wizard up today and O-M-G!!! do you guys see thsi stuff!!!, yeah Madman, 173 will have more stuff on MAD! im sure and these little sketches will do us well until then, this is awesome already i swear lol!

ok If I don't get wrong this is wizar 172 that's supostly had no Joe mad on it and Wizard 173 will had joe Mad on it men I can wait to se the wizard 173 issue men that scarletwitch it's so hot and Ironman (one of my fav, heroes from marvel) look awesome men its back defenetly Joe its back joe draw better then ever (i dont mean he stop draw like a master but hes style has evolve) I can wait for see the magazine (I hope some one scan the magazine inside cause in my country don't sell the wizard sad but true), just a cuestion when its come out the 173 issue

These scans came from 172, in an interview with Mark Millar (the writer of Ultimates and Ultimates 2) and Jeph Loeb (the writer of Ultimates 3 with Joe Madureira). Next month, Wizard 173 is the one that talks to Joe about what he's done in the past 5 years.

Is it just me or does the Iron Man sketch remind you a little of Joe's design of the Phalanx in his Uncanny X-Men run?

I think it looks cool as hell. Bryan Hitch gave Iron Man's armor in Ultimates 1 and 2 more of a bulkier Gundam type of armor and Joe has given him more of an Evangelion meets Guyver type of armor.
I am looking more and more towards Ultimates 3 the more I see art for it. I can't wait in the coming months as actual previews from the books start showing up.
I do really hope that when Ultimates 3 starts to show up, that Joe hooks Nathen up with some of the pencilled pages from the book.

I love Mad's design for Iron Man, I like how more organic it looks. I wish it were a little more finished, but whatever, I can already tell it's gonna be awesome.

As much as loved Battle Chasers, I don't think anything beats MAD superhero stuff...I don't know why...maybe it's because his manga-esque style fits TOO cohesively with Final Fantasy style subject matter....I think it stands out much more dynamically with more heroic stuff like X-Men...I can't wait to see more of his Hulk!
