I went to a lot of different message boards and a lot of people are talking bad about Joe's run on ultimates. I really don't get it. The man came out and took some time out of his schedule to draw comics again then we get jerks bad mouthing him and I bet that's the reason Joe doesn’t do Cons or signings.
I remember the days Joe used to go to the Joemadureira.com boards and post almost every day and took time to answer questions. As soon as a book started being late these asses start running their mouths. If you ask me, Joe left comics cause of dumb f**ks like that. Joe probably would love to post on these boards but I know once he does those same idiots will start doing what they do best.
I understand Ultimates 3 coming from Bryan Hitch and going to Joe mad! is a big difference in art directions but that no reason to come down on the book especially when it's not even out. I used to wonder why Nathan used to flip out at people like that but now I really understand his point of view after seeing that sh!t day after day after day.
The funniest thing about this is the book will sell out and have multiple reprints and the same people talking all that crap will be the ones first in line to get it and when they do get it, they will start talking about things they didn't like instead of the things that they did.
I'm sorry if I came to strong but this was heating me up for a while and I just wanted to finally express my opinion about it. I don't really know if this was bought up before nor is it considered ranting but seeing what those idiots are saying especially when a book is not out is very upsetting.

Because we Joe Mad! fans are rabid. Ha. Seriously, I don't see why those people can't be civil about it and discuss things instead of put somebody down. I always try to look at both sides of the coin. There are some things that Mad! has done through his career that made me upset, but it is HIS career. HIS choices. He left his fans hanging by doing what he did with Battle Chasers but I know that he has stated that he hated how open-ended he left it and that he wants to get back to it someday. But again, it was his choice and he found his dream job and he took it.
With lateness, he's made a bad name for himself and thats something that will always linger with him. At least for some years to come. And he's coming back to a media that he left on the height of his lateness, so that is what many people expect. All we can do is look forward to his Ultimates run and whatever else he decides to do.

check one comment made of TIM TOWNSEND about this TIM TOWNSEND POSTED: "I read the comments by the fans on the Newsarama site last night and it left me steaming. I came very close to making a post but, in the end, decided not to. Its not worth the time or energy and, ultimately, it wouldnt matter. It just drives me insane when I see the same old fanboys bashing every single new thing that comes down the pike. Of course its ok to express ones opinion, even if its negative. But they take it far beyond that. Everything sucks, everyone sucks, blah blah blah. How long have fans been screaming for Joe to come back to comics?! Well, here he is. And hes producing some of the best work of his career! Joe is an innovator, an original. Hes not going to come along and just rehash whats already been done. Hes going to push the boundaries and attempt to do something new and fresh. Of course hes not doing what Hitch did on the book. Hes a different artist with different sensibilities. He was hired to what Joe Mad does. Its ok if you dont like it. Its ok if its not working for you. And its ok if you express that opinion. Its as valid as anyone elses. Whats not ok is for you to attack his work ethic, his vision, and his talent. You end up sounding like some lame stereotype of "the pathetic comic dork" with nothing better to do than sit on your ass and vent your frustrations with your own life when things dont attune to your own narrow perspective. Get some freaking manners already! Finally, Im really hoping that Joe and Chris dont take this lackluster "welcome back to comics" to heart. The vast majority of us are beyond thrilled to have both of them back, even if only for a moment. I really hope these "keyboard commandos", this vocal minority, dont ruin things for the rest of us. As for me, welcome the hell back, guys!!!!!!!! P.S. One of the thing I like best about DeviantArt is that there is an overall sense of respect and manners. Kudos to you guys!! -- ~TiM~ here is the Link, liquidology.deviantart.com/journal/is in the deviantart of Christian Lichtner (the current colorist of Ultimates 3)

That has to be the best line ever..it's too comicbookish haha! it is a comic book. I've posted on tons of places as soon as I do I get attacked, even if I'm posting nothing about Mad! and they even send stuff stright to my email that I don't have listed on any forums. They somehow still find it and want to let me know how much Mad! sucks, they go out of their way to send hate mail. It's great now though that Tim Townsend said something maybe it will shut some people up, though it's what I've been replying with for years though and no one listens to me.

hers the link www.penciljack.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81166&page=7its the second to last post by "scottewen"..........i hate fan boys nothing anyone does makes them happy...its as if they fear change and once you start doing that nothing progresses or goes anywhere.....it stay the smae old boring way.....personally comics were starting to bore me at least mad is bringing back good old fashion action, flashy pages and less boring talk......lets face it its costume characters beating the $### out of each other....thats what comics are about....it seems like when the writers got more mature the stories did toand it lost its apeal and youthfullness,i miss that.

All i can express is for me to fully express my apologies for the foolishness the professionals go through (Timdog, Liquid, Joe, etc) and to say with great emphasis that Joe's FANS will truly stick with him to the very end. Tim's FANS and Liquid's FANS will truly stay with them and appreciate ALL that they do to the end. I spent too much time defending logically Joe and what he does in the olden' days on the Mad forums lol, i think i've made my point. Joe is the best, nuff' said.

Most fanboys hate because MAD is 10x better than their favorite artist. And I hear what Tim is saying. I've been posting these pics on various boards, and they get mostly flamed by the regulars.

You can never satify these a$$holes, they complain about everything. I'm not gonna let them ruin my exitment for this book. Joe Mad is the best at what he does, so they can go screw themselves.

It's no better on gamefaqs, on the Comics board they are saying how his "style isn't right for the Ultimates" and how "the Ultimates is ruined"

Ultimates 3 is going to rock! I do not care about these crazed fan boys dissing Joe Madureira. To me, he made the panels of Uncanny X-Men / Battle Chasers pop out of the book which never ceases to amazed me whenever I open up them! He is an Innovator, he brought the anime-sh style to America. To the fan boys, get a life! hehehe

I personally wasn't thrilled to hear that Mad! was going to do Ultimates at first. I didn't read the Millar/Hitch run because I have to be drawn (no pun intended) to it by the artist. It has to catch my eye and Hitch's art has never really done it for me. He is a great artist but I just don't like the style really. And then they announced Joe Mad! and Jeph Loeb on Vol. 3 and I was "eh" about it. Though great to see Mad! back in comics, Ultimates would not be the first comic book I'd expect him to draw. I was thinking, excluding Battle Chasers, that if he came back to comics and with Jeph Loeb of all people, it'd be a Spidey story. They had a Spidey story years back but it fell through. They also had a movie/television/cartoon in the works called BLAST being developed by Nickelodeon but I have no idea what happened with that (Madman!, do you know anything about this?). Anyway, they seem to be a great team and even though the Ultimates is not being done in the same style as it was before (which some fanboys are crying about), I feel that it will be a great story. The art will be fantastic none the less. Another reason they whine is because of Joe's history with past deadlines, but he has had a long head start and the arc is only 5 issues long. So, if the fanboys don't like it, they just have to deal with 5 issues. I personally can't wait and feel a little nostalgic that I'm going to be buying monthly comics again.
