I just thought I would bring up a subject that I thought many of you will be able to relate to and even comment on. I have found that if I draw an image while I’m listening to music I seam to work faster and create a better product. Things just work out a little better if I have my headphones on with Daft Punk, U2, or Linkin Park playing in them. I though that it would be a good idea if we had people post some of the music that they listen to while they are working on there art. That way people like me, always looking for new inspiration could maybe get some help with that. So I have named three of my most favorite bands. Daft Punk and U2 are long time favorites of mine and Linkin Park is a new one that I have started to listen to. So tell us what you like.

I find that it helps me keep focused on what I’m doing. Most of the time I have a bunch of other distractions going on around me when I’m working on something so if I can cancel out some of the noise with a little music it helps that much more. Any one else care to share?

I listen to all kinds of music. While I'm drawing though I try to listen to music that's basicly just instruments, like soundtracks. All the Star Wars soundtracks, Silent Hill, Splinter Cell..if it's a band I listen to Sigur Ros, Doves. Basicly bands with very little words and just instruments.

Instrumentals are great. I like Cusco and deep forest. I will have to give Sigur Ros and Doves a try.

Sigur Ros are great and they're very instrumental. There isn't very many words in their songs and the words are in German(I think it's German) anyway so I can't understand them..but they have an awesome sound..very relaxing. The Doves are kinda the same too very relaxing.

Now that is a wide range of music killaking. I don’t know if I would be able to do the country thing while I draw not to say that no one should. It’s just that my wife listens to it none stop so I try hard to stay away from it in most cases.

Some of my favorite sound tracks of all time are Gladiator, Hackers. Gladiator has some great instrumental music with some excellent vocals. Hackers had some of the best electric sounds of its time. I feel you can’t go wrong with ether one if you like there style.

I like instrumental music a lot too. I listen to a lot of game soundtracks, my favorites are the guilty gear soundtracks, toejam and earl, jet set radio, and a lot of RPG OSTs. Besides that I like a lot of other genres, like hip hop (no gangster stuff though ), metal, jazz, breakbeats, pop, funk, and some others.
